You are coming to South Africa for a safari so spend more time at a luxury private game lodge in one of South Africas prime game reserves and a lot less travelling time in a vehicle getting there. For two guests travelling, flying can often be more cost effective.
Save valuable time and fly to your safari destination
Fly-Inn Safaris Go SAfari can change and will send you a personal itinerary and costs to any of our safari itineraries to the Kruger Park and Madikwe, including flights, instead of the road transfers. Another option is to drive one way and fly the other, at least then you do get to see some of our beautiful country and can save time on the return journey by flying back to Johannesburg. Especially for the Kruger Park safaris as this will allow you time to get a connecting flight to Cape Town or your return flight home.
Kruger Park Lodges There are daily scheduled flights from OR Tambo (Johannesburg Airport) directly to the Sabie Sand and Timbavati Game reserves so if your international flight lands early morning by midday you can be relaxing in a luxury private lodge overlooking a waterhole and watching animals while enjoying a cold welcome drink. Airlink and CemAir operates scheduled flights from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Airport, this is a 60 minute flight and on your arrival a representative from the lodge will meet you and then transfer you to the lodge - this may be anything from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the lodge - so you can also be at a lodge by midday. Airlink operates scheduled flights from Johannesburg to Skukuza Airport, this is a 56 minute flight and on your arrival a representative from the lodge will meet you and then transfer you to the lodge. This is more of an extar game drive than a transfer and can be anything from 20 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the lodge. To drive from Johannesburg to any for these lodges will take between 6 to 7 hours.
Madikwe Lodges There are scheduled flights from OR Tambo (Johannesburg International Airport) directly to Madikwe and this is only a 40 minute flight, on arrival the lodge will meet you at the airstrip then just a short enjoyable game drive through the park so you can easily be relaxing in a luxury private lodge overlooking a waterhole and watching animals while enjoying a cold drink by midday. From Lanseria Airport (Johannesburg) Madikwe is only a 30 minute flight so ideal for a charter flight as it does not work out too costly. Driving from Johannesburg to Madikwe will take three to four hours.
Botswana Lodges There are also daily scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Maun and Kasane in Botswana, from here you will be met and transferred to the lodge or get onto a smaller chartered Cessna and have a scenic flight to your lodge. This will obviously take longer but you will be in the lodge in time to enjoy the afternoon game activity. You almost have to fly to these lodges in Botswana as instead of a two to three day drive in a few hours you will be at you lodge.
Due to the large distances involved in Southern Africa, flying is the answer.
