Cable Car Ride at Haartebeespoort Dam
The recently opened Aerial Cableway is the next stop. This modern facility will take you safely to the top of the Magaliesberg Mountain where you will enjoy amazing views of the dam and on a clear day even see Johannesburg. There are restaurants where you can have lunch while enjoying the view. Make your way around the Dassie Loop where there are plaques to explain what you are looking at.
Fourteen hi-tech cable cars, built to carry six passengers at a time and able to transport up to 500 people per hour (round trip), are ready to give visitors a world-class aerial cableway experience. The new cable cars were supplied by a Swiss company and the new galvanized cabling was installed, and the cableway was fitted and re-engineered according to Canadian Standards Association specifications.
Touch-screen technology, auto cabin spacing and conveyor programming technology, as well as state-of-the-art cabin locators and switches, were all incorporated to take the cableway into the 21st century, and ensure a comfortable and safe visitor experience.

The safari is approximately 9 hours, departing Johannesburg 06h30 and returning around 17h30.
